Duplicate Contacts

Overview

Duplicate contacts can often happen because both the provider and the participant have added the contact with different email addresses. To resolve duplicates, you can merge the contacts.

How to Merge Duplicate Contacts

  1. Go to the contact you do not want to keep.
  2. Click on the "Settings" tab.
  3. Select the contact you want to keep.
  4. Click on the "Merge contact" button.

Important Information About Merging

When merging contacts, one contact is kept while the other is discarded. If the contact being discarded is linked to an email address, the user will no longer be able to access their account through this email address. They must instead use the email address associated with the contact that is kept.

What Happens During a Merge

  • All activities, orders, and enrollment history will be transferred from the discarded contact to the kept contact
  • All contact information (phone numbers, addresses, etc.) on the discarded contact will be permanently deleted
  • All contact information on the kept contact will remain unchanged
